The Beech Grove Common Council is comprised of seven members elected to four-year terms; two at-large and five elected from the five Council districts. The Council is the legislative body of the city. It adopts the annual budget for the city, appropriates tax monies, passes city ordinances and resolutions, and makes appointments to certain boards and commissions.
Regular meetings of the Common Council are held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. In the event the regular meeting day falls on a legal holiday, the meeting will be held the day following the holiday. Special meetings may called by the Mayor with at least three days notice and for a specified purpose.
